Mai in München unvergessen.

Matt Bowman:

"It's 3am and the whole band are asleep on the tour bus travelling from Köln to München. All of a sudden we are woken up and told to get off the bus immediately and walk up the grass verge of the autobahn to safety! It appears the tour bus has broken down and is hanging half on and half off the autobahn with lorry's and cars speeding past almost smashing into our trailer.

After spending an hour in the cold and with no hope of the bus being repaired the police finally turn up and arrange for us to be towed to saftey. It was pretty exciting travelling down the autobahn at 5 kmh with a full police escort and flashing lights!

After 12 hours at the service station waiting for a replacement bus to arrive, we finally set off on the road again to München. With a 5 hour drive ahead of us and only 4 and a half hours to stage time, it seems like we might not make the show!

To make things even more difficult 3 hours into the drive and suddenly we pull over at a service station - apparently the driver has to have a 45 minute minute break so he doesn't break the law, now we're 1 hour and 15 minutes behind schedule and it seems the show definitely isn't going to happen. We walk to Subway to get a sandwich and sulk. When we return to the bus however a plan has been hatched and everyone thinks we can now make the show. It does however mean no sound check, borrowing the support bands equipment and walking straight off the bus, into the venue and onto the stage.
The band are up for it, the crew are up for it and the driver agrees to put his foot down and drive as fast as he can - away we go and München here we come.

We arrive at the venue an hour late, the crowd seem restless but pleased to see us. There's just enough time to open a bottle of beer, quickly check your hair in the mirror and then that's it - our introduction music is playing and we're on stage. The gig was amazing, the crowd was amazing and it was definitely worth the effort and chaos to make the show happen. This was definitely a gig we'll never forget."
