Jung, frech, erfolgreich: Die Eight LegsEight Legs' guitar player Jack Wharton about success and what he expects of his life at the age of 50.

Which things changed since the Dior Homme Winter 2006 show? In which places in your  life do you notice that your are on a roll and very  successful now?

I try not to pay any attention to the change. Im often completely oblivious to it. At clubs and pubs when your music comes on is weird. Or when you hear your music by random on the TV!

We´ve talked to a lot of bands which are a long time in this business. They said that drawing comparisons with other bands can be very helpful, especial for young bands no one heard about before. But you are against comparisons strictly. Why?

Because our sound is our own unique blend. Its not not like anything else… so a comparison would be wrong. We want to be talked about in our own right, not in the shadow of another band.

You are writing songs about topics you are busy yourself with. Which topics are you so much busy yourself with actually that you work it up in new songs?

Relationships with everyone around us… each other, girlfriends and the like.

Imagine: You are 50 years old and get a titelstory. What should be the headline?

Jack Wharton creates real Jurassic Park!!!!

Which was the most haunting (happy, sad, whatever) moment for you with Eight Legs?

Tough question…. maybe our first trip to Japan. It was such a different culture that it felt like a dream. The film Lost in Translation really portrays this perfectly
