Fight Like Apes17. and 18.09.2009: We set off of an eleven o´clock in the morning on thursday. Serious questionable chicken pesto paninis at the airport, serious shit ryanair flight. We rocketed into germany around 1.

We were exited of course. First time on German soil. Mary, Tom and I had a 7 hour wait till Adrian and James our tour manager got there with the van to collect us. We sat up camp beside some sockets, made a fort out of gear and sat down for a tv marathon.

Flies have always been attracted to me. I've no idea why. Maybe it's my manly musk. In this case I reckon this time they just wanted to live it up in our amazing fort. They swarmed us, being about annoying as all flies can be. It nearly put me off my delicious currywurst. In any case we hairsprayed the fuck outta them.(you try asking for insect repellent in german) and continued our marathon.

The van got there around eight and we had an hour and a half jaunt to the hotel. Being absolutely knackered from doing absolutely nothing bar styling flies and eating sausage we retreated to bed after a few beers.

The next day we got up at the crack of 10 and hit the venue about 5 hours early. Serious shit buzz.

Checked out some expensive tattoo parlour ( it makes me feel really manly to pretend i might someday get one), ate some pizza and soundchecked around half six. We went to to pool hall and drank some stupid banana beer that probably shouldn't exist and played our gig around half eleven.

The gig was deadly. We were of course chuffed, it being our first German gig. We stuck around drinking with the support band Pillow Fight Club for a while, got another currywurst and then went back to Ivo the promoters house to get some kip. Serious Berlin tomorrow.
