The Upallnights: Greifswald

The Upallnights in GreifswaldLet me tell you, the most common question you get asked when you're touring is "Where are you going next?". When you talk to people in the major cities and you tell them "Well, we're going to Dresden, Chemnitz, Greifswald and..." they always interrupt you and go "GREIFSWALD??!! Why would you want to go THERE?". All you have to do to get the answer to that question is come to Greifswald and attend a concert by The Upallnights. It'll become PERFECTLY clear just why we'd want to go there.

This show was our third in Greifswald and, I must admit, we were a bit nervous about whether anyone would show since we had 'The Chemnitz Experience' fresh in mind... Greifswald is a tiny city but it has a university that holds 12000 students from what we've heard. Yesterday, around 80 of those decided to attend our concert at the Klex. What that means is that we drew a full house. But that's not it really. It could just aswell've been 20 attendees because it's not the number that counts when it comes to Greifswald-shows.

Instead, it's the dancing, it's the screaming, it's love in the air and the singing-along. The mood of yesterday's show was just fabulous. We certainly had the time of our lives and I think it's fair to say that many more had. We did an 11-song long set and was close to death when we were done because we danced and, quite frankly, rocked our asses of. Then, we did an encore of three songs. Then, we did a SECOND encore of three more songs. We we're really running on empty by then but we just couldn't leave the crowd unsatisfied, not after the love they had given us. Honestly, our most fun gig ever.

See you in October Greifswald and thank you so much. / Kris
