We got up at at the crack of 9 for a bit of munch. Amazing breakfasts here. Bread rolls, boiled eggs, cheeses, bacon and coffee, all a growing 25 year old needs to start today. We got into the van for what we believed was gonna be a short jaunt towards Wiesbaden. We made a pit stop at the local Tiergarten(zoo) courtesy of our tour manager James. I hadnt been to the zoo in ages. It was amazing. I fucking love polar bears. The reindeer were very disappointing, terrible antlers the lot of them. Surely Christmas coulda had a better mascot. We arrived at Weisbaden around 6 and tucked into our soundcheck. It was gonna be our last night with Pillow Fight Club which was very sad. Theyre such a lovely band and it was really nice getting to know them over the last while. The show was cool and we stuck around afterwards drinking and saying emotional goodbyes before heading to the hotel where we parked and played "x factor" for a while. May didnt get through to bootcamp. We could'nt justify putting a cheap Whitney Houstan soundalike into a competition where there was so many other strong voices. My version of New York New York however kicked some serious audition ass. We headed to bed around 5 for a few hours kip. Serious 9 o clock start the next day. No time for breakfast. We crawled into the van and continued our sleep till we got to hamburg. Poor Adrian and James shared the drive which I cant imagine was too pleasant. We got to Hamburg around 6 and started soundcheck for our show at 8. Serious Reeperbahn festival. Id heard quite alot about this over the years and was well exited. The gig was definitely the best one of the tour. The venue was totally rammed, everyone danced/moshed and i lost a litre of sweat or so. We packed up our gear straight afterwards and packed the van then headed for mcdonalds. Amazing. I highly recommend the McRib and the Hamburger Royal Ts. We headed to the artists bar and indulged in a few curious looking cocktails while doing an interview. We were totally wrecked this stage and definitely pondering sleep. We had another radio interview at twelve. After that we threw on some 99 Red Baloons said goodbye to germany and went to bed in the hotel. I read some weird article about eating gold before getting some shuteye. We got into the van at ten the next morning and Adrian dropped us towards to airport. Mary, Tom and I were getting a flight back to Dublin while Adrian and James drove. We filled up on some interpretation of an English Breakfast(who puts salad in a breakfast) watched the new Peep show and the new american office before boarding our plane from the most rinky dink gate ive ever seen. I reckon i could destroy that airport with my bare hands.Ive seen two men tents at festivals that look sturdier. May and I watched some "Life and Times of Tim" and some "King of the Hill" on the planes before landing in Dublin around half 2. Serious shit weather, serious overpriced everything, serious home. I think were going back to germany in December. Before that were going into hiding down the country for a few weeks to write the shit outta some new songs. Were very exited. Although: Serious lack of a currywurst in Ballycumber. (25th Wiesbaden - 26th Hamburg -27th Travel)
